WHY THE ELECTRONS ALWAYS MOVE IN A OPPOSITE DIRECTION TO THAT OF CURRENT AND PROTONS MOVE IN A DIRECTION ALONG WITH THE CURRENT
Basically, current is defined as the flow of electrons.
But, before the discovery of electrons, protons were discovered. So, for long time scientists believed protons to be responsible for current. And hence, in the circuit diagram the direction of protons movement is shown as direction of current.
It was later on discovered that electrons are actually responsible for current. But, still the direction of current was shown as direction of protons and not electrons.
Hence, in the circuit diagram it is seen that electrons always move in opposite direction to that of current and protons move in a direction along with the current.
