Terminating decimal expansion- A fraction number in the form of p/q is terminating, if denominator (q) is in the form of 2^m X 5 ^n, Where m and n are whole number. Terminating numbers are terminate after the decimals. example 2.25 , 123.589 etc are the terminating number exapansion.

Non- terminating repeating decimal expansion: A non – terminating repeating decimal numbers are not terminate after the decimal and repeat after the some pattern. example- 5.125125125… and 45.78567856…. etc are the non terminating repeating expansion.
