BPT Theorem Statement: If a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle intersecting other two sides, then it divides the two sides in the same ratio.

Look for problems in which triangle is divided into two parts and the line dividing the triangle is parallel to one side of the triangle. In such cases, BPT theorem can be applied.

Converse BPT Theorem Statement: If a line divides any two sides of a triangle in the same ratio, then the line must be parallel to the third side.

Look for problems in which triangle is divided into two parts in the same ratio. In such cases, Converse BPT theorem can be applied.
