# Question number 1

Let ABCD be the square park. And PQRS be the area inside the park excluding the road area.

Given, side of park is 120 m.

So, area of park ABCD = (120 x 120) = 14400 m^2

Now, a path 6 m wide is built all around inside the park.

So, length of each side of square PQRS = 120 – (6+6)

= 120 – 12 = 108 m

Area of PQRS = (108 x 108) = 11664 m^2

Hence, area of the road = 14400 – 11664

= 2736 m^2
