How CO (Carbon monoxide) achieve stable electronic configuration in chemical reaction?
Carbon has the 4 valance electrons and O has 6 valance electrons in their outermost shell. So total number of valance electrons are 10 in the valance shells of both the atoms. According to octet law, both atoms carbon and oxygen form a triple bond by sharing the 6 electron.
