In the parallel connection, the voltage in every branch of the circuit remains the same, and also the resistance of the voltmeter is very high due to which a very small current flow through the voltmeter. So, it is connected in a parallel manner to measure the voltage.
And current in series remains same throughout so the ammeter is connected in series and also resistance in ammeter is negligible so it doesn’t effect the current magnitude in series.
