Class 11 Physics Fluids
Here, from pascal’s law pressure at height ‘h’ is same for any liquid.
So, here pressure at right column,
Pr = ρ* g*l where ρ= density
Pr= 3gl
Pressure at left column, Pl = ρ*g*l
Pl = 1gl = gl
So, liquid A will rise and liquid at base will also rise to height h, suppose.
So Final pressure in left column,
Pl = 2*g*h + 1*g*(h+l)
Pl = 3gh + gl
Now, Pl = Pr
so, 3gh + gl = 3gl
3gh = 2gl
h = 2l/ 3
So, Liquid A will rise for another 0.66l and liquid of base will take place there.
