Hi, I have doubt regarding class 10 electricity NCERT question 4. “Two conducting wires of the same material and of equal lengths and equal diameters are first connected in series and then parallel in a circuit across the same potential difference. The ratio of heat produced in series and parallel combinations would be”. Answer is 1:4. The answer is Hs:Hp::1:4, if we use formula H=V^2t/R. But other formula for calculating heat is H=I^2RT. if we use this ratio is inversed i.e. Hs:Hp::4:1. Request you please explain which formula should be used and why? Answer Hs:Hp::1:4 also seems wrong as higher the resistance higher should be heat i.e. heat generated should be more when resistance are connected in series.
